Southwestern style evokes homey memories of the deserts and Native America found in the southwestern portion of the United States. One should think of Native Americans, buffalo, adobe dwellings, cactus, and blowing sands.

Extensive use is made of colors that are seen in the desert. Accessories lean heavily toward Native American accents and desert plants. Brightly-colored patterned fabrics are mixed with natural colors. A natural organic flavor is represented by over scaled furniture made from log pole and rugged materials such as iron, stones and wood. A city flavor is represented by plastic cactus decorations and wall hangings, coyote figurines and the use of peach and teal coloring. Walls may be thick adobe.
